Rwenzori Mountain National Park.
120km Rwenzori chain is regarded to be the legendary snow-capped “mountains of the moon” described by Ptolemy in AD 150 reaching an elevation of 5109m. It is also Africa’s tallest range exceeded by Mt. Kenya and Kilimanjaro.
A variety of large mammals inhabit the lower slopes but Rwenzori’s are notable for their majestic scenery and varied vegetation. The trails lead through rain forest rattling with monkeys and birds, then tall bamboo forest before emerging on the high attitude moorland zone, a landscape of bizarre giant lobelias towered over by black rock and white snow. The most exhilarating activity in the Rwenzori is the mountaineering which is ideal for those seeking hard adventure, however birders can also find the place interesting because of the unique and endemic bird species in the forest such as the Rwenzoei Turaco, it also ideal lace for those who love nature and the botanists
